Spotlight: Our Radiology Department

The Radiology Department at Hudson Regional Hospital can be instrumental in diagnosing and treating numerous diseases, but it is essential to choose a hospital with a well-equipped radiology department and appropriately trained professionals. Doing so can help you find comprehensive support when you need various medical exams, including MRIs, X-rays, and more.

What We Offer at Hudson Regional Hospital

The Hudson Regional Hospital contains a state of the art Radiology Department capable of performing a wide range of duties. Patients have trusted our facilities and expert staff for many years, and we consistently strive to go above and beyond in our care. We can offer the following radiology services to our valued patients:

Nuclear medicine: using minute amounts of radioactive material, nuclear medicine can diagnose multiple diseases. These diseases may include heart disease, gastrointestinal problems, neurological and endocrine disorders, and a wide variety of cancers. In some cases, nuclear medicine may also be used to treat conditions, providing relief for patients.
CT scans: a CT scan (otherwise known as a CAT scan) takes X-ray measurements of the body from many different angles and feeds them through a computer to produce detailed cross sections of specific areas. Such technology can be used to identify tumors and other irregularities in places where standard film X-rays would be unable to detect them.
Fluoroscopy: by passing a continuous X-ray beam throughout the body, fluoroscopy can create real-time moving images that show the inside of the human body. It can be useful in diagnosing joint problems, placing catheters, and identifying problems within the digestive system (among other uses).
Ultrasound: ultrasound technology uses high-frequency sound waves to create visual representations of the inner body. It is most commonly used to study unborn children while they are still inside their mothers’ wombs, but can also be used to look at internal organs such as the heart or pelvic organs.
Mammogram: this form of radiology can be instrumental in detecting breast cancer before it has a chance to metastasize and become a more significant concern.
MRI: MRIs use magnetic fields to create detailed images of internal body structures. They can examine soft tissue, bones, and organs, which makes them useful for a large variety of tests. MRIs are commonly used to diagnose athletic injuries.

Finding Suitable Treatment for Your Unique Needs
Our Radiology Department provides all the services listed above, using cutting-edge tools and experienced practitioners. Some of our radiology treatments may require patients to undergo preliminary procedures ahead of time—including bloodwork, which is expressly crucial for patients over 60 years of age and those with diabetes, hypertension, or kidney problems.

Please note that all our radiology procedures are subject to different scheduling policies and may be subject to additional requirements depending on the circumstances of each patient.

Contact us directly if you have questions about a specific service, and speak to a member of our reception staff who will be happy to provide you with additional details on the radiology treatments that can help you.
