Visitation Policy

Effective April 03rd, 2023

Hudson Regional Hospital understands the importance of having loved ones close by during hospital stays, and we are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and their visitors. Please review our visitation policy below before visiting.

  • To provide flexibility and support to patients and families, Hudson Regional Hospital allows open visiting hours. No more than (1) visitor may remain at the patient’s bedside.
  • All visitors are required to stop at the security desk in the main lobby and obtain a visitor badge.
  • Visitors for isolation patients are required to stop at the nurses’ station before entering the patient’s room. Visiting will be restricted for patients with COVID-19 and will require prior approval from the patient’s care team.
  • Visitors shall not be permitted or may be asked to leave:
    • When deemed to be in the best interest of the patient
    • Upon request of the patient
    • In emergency situations
  • Children under 18 years of age are not permitted to visit without permission from the patient’s care team.
  • Adults and children with fever and/or respiratory symptoms are discouraged from visitation. Hudson Regional Hospital reserves the right to restrict visitors based on CDC recommendations surrounding the flu, COVID-19, etc.

ICU Visitation Policy

  • Visiting hours for the ICU are 11:00AM to 1:00PM, and 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Two (2) visitors are permitted at a time unless approved by the patient’s care team.
  • Children under 18 years of age are not permitted to visit without permission from the patient’s care team.
  • All ICU visitors are required to stop at the security desk in the main lobby and obtain a visitor badge.
  • All visitors shall be required to remain in the 3rd floor waiting room area when not permitted in the ICU.
  • In an effort to maintain communication among patients, visitors, and staff, on-going interaction will be encouraged. Upon arrival to the ICU, visitors will be directed to the 3rd floor waiting room area if it is an inconvenient time to see the patient. Visitors will be informed by the patient’s care team when visiting will be permitted. If visiting is restricted, the patient’s care team will update the family and/or significant other of the patient’s condition at least every hour.
  • Visitors shall not be permitted to enter the ICU or may be requested to leave the unit:
    • When deemed in the best interest of the patient
    • Upon request by the patient
    • In emergency situations

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients and their visitors. In some cases, visitation may be restricted due to patient safety, medical procedures, or other circumstances. We ask for your understanding and cooperation in these circumstances.
