SECAUCUS, NJ – (June 5, 2025). Just one week into the launch of the Hudson Regional Health 4-hospital system, its recently appointed lead neurosurgeon performed a craniotomy, removing a brain tumor from 33-year old male patient in the first brain surgery in the history of its flagship acute care facility, Hudson Regional Hospital.
Dr. Arno H. Fried, who is credentialed across all four hospitals, utilized advanced Stealth Navigation technology to complete the procedure. The patient is recovering well and was released two days after the successful procedure.
Since first announcing its intent to create a countywide healthcare system, Hudson Regional Health (HRH) has remained committed to enhancing operations and expanding access to high-quality care across its hospital network. Improvements have been steadily implemented at each facility, reflecting this ongoing investment in patient care.
“Today’s successful brain tumor surgery opens up a new era for Hudson Regional Health and allows us to provide state-of-the-art neurosurgical care to the community and the surrounding region,” said Dr. Arno H. Fried, MD, FACS, FAAN, lead Neurosurgeon at Hudson Regional Hospital. “I was impressed by how well-prepared the hospital and operating room were, and how the team’s experience, combined with the new technology, contributed to the success of this procedure.”
Notably, HRH recently reopened the cardiac unit at Bayonne Medical Center, which now offers diagnostic and interventional procedures through its cardiac catheterization lab.
These achievements represent yet another step forward in HRH’s mission to deliver advanced, patient-centered care to the communities of Hudson County.
