Bio

Dr. Colin B. Harris is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic spine surgeon with over 15 years of experience treating spinal disorders in New York and New Jersey. A graduate of Columbia University and New York Medical College, Dr. Harris completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, followed by a prestigious fellowship in spine surgery at Rush University in Chicago, IL, one of the nation’s leading spine programs.

Dedicated to patient-centered care, Dr. Harris tailors surgical and non-surgical treatment plans to each individual, using the most modern, minimally invasive techniques available. He believes in educating his patients thoroughly about their spinal condition, treatment options, and recovery pathways to restore function and improve quality of life.

A recognized leader in minimally invasive spine surgery, Dr. Harris teaches lateral lumbar surgery (XLIF) techniques to surgeons worldwide and has been at the forefront of introducing motion-sparing procedures and robotic-assisted surgery to the New York metropolitan area. He actively incorporates disc replacement surgery and advanced navigation technologies into his practice to achieve faster recoveries and superior outcomes.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Harris is involved in orthopedic and spine surgical education, having instructed residents and medical students throughout his career. He has published multiple peer-reviewed research articles in the fields of orthopedic and spine surgery and remains active in national professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS), and Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS). He also serves as faculty at the Orthopedic Summit in Evolving Techniques (OSET).

Dr. Harris sees patients at both New York and New Jersey locations and is proud to be part of the renowned spine team at Total Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
