Bio
Ryan Nelson, MD, is an interventional radiologist of Advanced Interventional & Vascular Services at Hudson Regional Health.
He earned his Bachelors of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. In addition to completing radiology residency and the DIRECT (Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Enhanced Clinical Training) Pathway in interventional radiology, Dr. Nelson is board certified in internal medicine. He served as the chief resident of the training program during his interventional radiology fellowship.
Dr. Nelson performs the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including peripheral vascular disease, hemodialysis maintenance, and interventional pain. He has a special interest in interventional oncology and uterine fibroid embolization.
He uses his extensive clinical training in combination with cutting-edge minimally-invasive procedures to provide patients with comprehensive care allowing for faster recovery and shorter hospital stays.
