Yan Moshe
Chairman of the Board
Yan Moshe serves as Chairman of the Board of Hudson Regional Health and has been a driving force behind the organization’s growth, investment strategy, and vision for expanding access to care across Hudson County. Since acquiring Hudson Regional Health in 2018, Mr. Moshe has focused on strengthening the hospital’s clinical foundation, investing in advanced technology, attracting high-quality physicians and providers, and rebuilding essential healthcare services for the communities the system serves.
With more than two decades of experience operating healthcare facilities, Mr. Moshe brings an entrepreneurial and community-focused approach to healthcare transformation. Under his leadership, Hudson Regional Health has continued to advance its mission of building a healthier community through exceptional care, innovation, and patient-centered service.
Nizar Kifaieh, MD, MBA, CPE, FACEP
President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Nizar Kifaieh serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hudson Regional Health. A board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and experienced healthcare executive, Dr. Kifaieh leads the system’s patient-first strategy, focusing on quality, access, patient experience, clinical integration, and innovation.
Since joining Hudson Regional Health in 2018, he has helped guide the organization’s growth into a rapidly expanding regional healthcare network serving Hudson County. Dr. Kifaieh previously held senior executive roles at CarePoint Health System, including Executive Vice President, System Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Clinical Integration Officer, and also served as President, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Quality Officer at Christ Hospital. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate, completed Emergency Medicine training at SUNY Downstate and Kings County Hospital, and holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
Doug Zehner
Executive Vice President & System Chief Financial Officer
Doug Zehner serves as Executive Vice President and System Chief Financial Officer of Hudson Regional Health. He brings more than 30 years of healthcare finance and operations leadership experience, including senior roles within RWJBarnabas Health.
Before joining Hudson Regional Health, Mr. Zehner served as Northeast Regional CFO at RWJBarnabas Health, where he played a central role in financial planning, campus revitalization initiatives, and operational capacity improvement across a multi-hospital regional portfolio. He also previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
At Hudson Regional Health, Mr. Zehner leads financial strategy, performance improvement, and long-term stability efforts in support of the system’s continued growth as a unified, patient-centered regional healthcare network.
Dan Bengyak
Chief Human Resources Officer
Dan Bengyak serves as Chief Human Resources Officer of Hudson Regional Health, where he leads the people, workforce, and labor strategy for the growing four-hospital health system. As the organization’s CHRO, Mr. Bengyak is responsible for building and integrating the enterprise human resources function, strengthening organizational capability, advancing workforce strategy, and aligning people practices with Hudson Regional Health’s clinical, operational, and growth priorities.
Mr. Bengyak brings broad executive leadership experience across healthcare, energy, and high-growth organizations. Prior to joining Hudson Regional Health, he held senior human resources leadership roles with the University of Vermont Health Network and Montefiore Health System. His healthcare experience spans complex hospital and health system environments, with leadership responsibilities across labor relations, talent strategy, organizational transformation, compensation and benefits, workforce planning, executive leadership, and HR operations.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bengyak has focused on building high-performing organizations, navigating complex workforce environments, and aligning talent, culture, operations, and strategy to support sustainable growth and organizational performance.
Adam Alonso
Chief Strategy Officer
Adam Alonso serves as Chief Strategy Officer of Hudson Regional Health, where he leads systemwide strategy, growth planning, public affairs, and initiatives that support the organization’s long-term mission. A serial entrepreneur and government relations expert, Mr. Alonso has founded and led companies across consulting, business development, public policy, real estate, hospitality, and regulated industries.
He founded The Cratos Group in 2009, advising clients on strategic planning, legal and regulatory matters, policy, political intelligence, and business development. His background includes service as Political Director for the Murphy/Oliver gubernatorial transition and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Phil Murphy.
At Hudson Regional Health, Mr. Alonso works with the executive leadership team to identify growth opportunities, strengthen partnerships, improve operational alignment, and advance innovation across the health system.
Simon Farouss
Chief Information Officer
Simon Farouss serves as Chief Information Officer of Hudson Regional Health, where he leads enterprise information technology strategy, infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems integration, and digital enablement across the health system. In this role, he is responsible for advancing a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment that supports clinical care, operational performance, organizational growth, and an increasingly connected patient experience.
Mr. Farouss brings extensive healthcare information technology experience and deep knowledge of the Hudson County healthcare environment. Prior to being named Chief Information Officer in 2022, he served as Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations at Hudson Regional Hospital. Earlier in his career, he spent more than eight years with CarePoint Health System, including service in IT site management.
At Hudson Regional Health, Mr. Farouss works across clinical, operational, and administrative functions to strengthen technology capabilities, support system integration, enhance cybersecurity and business continuity, and ensure that information systems effectively enable the organization’s mission. His leadership is particularly important as Hudson Regional Health continues to grow and integrate a multi-hospital regional healthcare network.
Harry G. Kapralos
Vice President & Chief Legal Officer
Harry G. Kapralos serves as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Hudson Regional Health. As a member of the executive leadership team, he provides legal counsel and strategic guidance on matters affecting the health system, including governance, compliance, operations, transactions, regulatory issues, and risk management.
Mr. Kapralos works closely with executive, clinical, and operational leaders to support sound decision-making in a complex and highly regulated healthcare environment. His leadership helps ensure that Hudson Regional Health’s strategic initiatives, business activities, and operational priorities are aligned with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
In his role, Mr. Kapralos supports the organization’s continued growth and integration as a regional healthcare network, helping protect institutional interests while advancing Hudson Regional Health’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the communities it serves.
Otto Angulo
Chief Marketing Officer
Otto Angulo serves as Chief Marketing Officer of Hudson Regional Health, where he leads enterprise marketing strategy, brand development, digital engagement, and communications in support of the health system’s continued growth. In this role, he is focused on establishing a unified brand, connecting patients and physicians to Hudson Regional Health’s clinical capabilities, enabling strategic partnerships, and building a scalable marketing infrastructure across the organization.
Mr. Angulo brings more than 25 years of marketing experience, including more than seven years focused on healthcare. Prior to joining Hudson Regional Health, he served as Senior Director of Digital Consumer Engagement at AtlantiCare, where his work centered on digital transformation and consumer engagement. His healthcare marketing background also includes experience with leading health systems, including NewYork-Presbyterian and Mount Sinai.
Throughout his career, Mr. Angulo has focused on building modern marketing capabilities, strengthening consumer connections, and using digital strategy to support organizational growth. At Hudson Regional Health, he brings that experience to the system’s next phase of integration, market development, and community engagement.
Steven Caban
System Vice President of Supply Chain
Steven Caban serves as System Vice President of Supply Chain for Hudson Regional Health, where he leads enterprise supply chain strategy, procurement, sourcing, vendor management, and related operational initiatives across the health system. In this role, he works to strengthen purchasing performance, improve standardization, support cost stewardship, and ensure that clinical and operational teams have reliable access to the products and services needed to deliver high-quality patient care.
Mr. Caban brings extensive experience in healthcare purchasing and supply chain leadership, along with deep institutional knowledge of Hudson Regional Health and the local healthcare environment. Prior to assuming his systemwide role, he served as Director of Purchasing at Hudson Regional Hospital and previously held purchasing leadership responsibilities at Meadowlands Hospital and Medical Center and Quality Medical Group.
At Hudson Regional Health, Mr. Caban partners with clinical, financial, and operational leaders to advance system integration, strengthen supplier relationships, identify efficiencies, and build a scalable supply chain platform capable of supporting the organization’s continued growth as a four-hospital regional healthcare network.
Paula Lapas
System VP of Business Development
Paula Lapas serves as System Vice President of Business Development for Hudson Regional Health, leading strategic growth, partnership development, market positioning, and community engagement initiatives across the four-hospital system.
Ms. Lapas brings more than a decade of experience in business development and marketing communications, with a strong record of increasing referrals, expanding market share, and strengthening brand visibility. Prior to her systemwide role, she served as Director of Business Development at Hudson Regional Hospital, where she helped develop targeted outreach strategies, support new program launches, and build collaborative relationships with physicians, community partners, and stakeholders.
Her patient-centered approach and strategic mindset support Hudson Regional Health’s continued expansion and reputation throughout the New Jersey healthcare landscape.
Bayonne University Hospital
Vijayant Singh, MD, MBA, FACHE, CPE
Chief Hospital Executive
Dr. Vijayant Singh serves as Chief Hospital Executive of Bayonne University Hospital. A board-certified internist, Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Certified Physician Executive, and healthcare MBA, Dr. Singh brings deep experience in clinical leadership, hospital operations, quality improvement, and physician alignment.
He has spent his career serving the Hudson County healthcare community, beginning with his training at Jersey City Medical Center and later joining CarePoint Health, where he advanced through multiple leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Hudson Regional Hospital’s Chief Clinical Officer and Vice President of Network Development.
In his role at Bayonne University Hospital, Dr. Singh leads operational excellence, strategic growth, patient outcomes, and the continued strengthening of clinical services for the community.

Michael Hochberg, MD, MBA, MLA, FACEP
Chief Hospital Executive
Dr. Michael Hochberg serves as Chief Hospital Executive of Hoboken University Hospital. He joined Hudson Regional Health in early 2025 as Chief Hospital Executive of Bayonne University Hospital, where he helped lead improvements in patient experience, emergency department wait times, average daily census, and physician and nurse recruitment.
Before joining Hudson Regional Health, Dr. Hochberg served as Chief Operations and Integration Officer at Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at JPS Health Network, and Corporate Associate Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer for Steward Health Care.
He earned his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at SUNY Buffalo, completed Emergency Medicine training at Jacobi/Montefiore, and holds graduate degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Johns Hopkins University.
