The Hudson Regional Health Foundation today announced the launch of its new Community Recovery Initiative, a county-wide effort to help people experiencing substance use disorder connect with treatment and recovery services. The initiative will be introduced at the Foundation’s eighth annual golf outing fundraiser, which will allocate proceeds raised to launch and expand the program in Hudson County.
Instead of waiting for someone in crisis to come to the hospital, the Foundation will partner with local community organizations throughout Hudson County to provide free meals and provide early intervention education with trained professionals. HRH will set up a working group with community stakeholders to identify community needs and coordinate outreach efforts.
Substance use disorder remains a major challenge throughout Hudson County, and many people lack the ability to navigate the healthcare system. The Community Recovery Initiative is designed to close that gap by bringing outreach directly into the community.
“For eight years, our HRH Foundation has been raising funds to provide a helping hand to our local communities,” said HRH Chairman Yan Moshe. “I’m pleased to share that this year, we are continuing to remove barriers to care and make it easier for people to take the first step toward recovery.”
“Our goal is simple: reach people before it’s too late,” said HRH CEO and President Dr. Nizar Kifaieh. “By partnering with community organizations and the local community, we can provide critical education to assist individuals struggling with addiction.”
The program will work with faith-based organizations, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and local stakeholders to host regular community events across Hudson County. Funds raised through this year’s golf outing will support meals, outreach, education services, and other program costs.
The Foundation’s initial goal is to raise enough funding to provide approximately 25,000 meals and information services to people in need across Hudson County.
The initiative will be launched during the networking portion of the Foundation’s golf outing, taking place at 5 pm on June 29, 2026 at Montammy Golf Club.
