Hoboken University Hospital unveils state-of-the-art remodeled Infusion Center

Hudson Regional Health (HRH) recently unveiled a newly remodeled, state-of-the-art Infusion Center at Hoboken University Hospital, doubling the center’s size and expanding its capacity to serve patients. Major upgrades include six additional infusion chairs, technological advances with additional WOWs (Workstations on Wheels), renovated patient care spaces and waiting rooms, and the addition of a second patient restroom.

Hoboken University Hospital’s Infusion Center provides patients with treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antibiotics, hydration, blood transfusions, and other specialized medications. Patients are able to receive their treatments in one convenient location from highly qualified nursing professionals with expertise in oncology and infusion services.

“HRH is fully committed to investing in Hoboken University Hospital to improve patient care and modernize our facilities, and the remodeled Infusion Center is the first of a number of infrastructure projects to come,” said Hoboken University Hospital Chief Hospital Executive Dr. Michael Hochberg. “Patients who need infusion services can receive expert care in a newly renovated space close to home.”

“This investment in Hoboken University Hospital is great news for our constituents who rely on these important services,” said Hoboken Councilwoman and Board Member Tiffanie Fisher. “Expanding the Infusion Center means more patients can receive high-quality cancer treatments and other critical care right here in our Mile Square without having to travel long distances. I thank Hudson Regional Health for this investment, the first of many upgrades we look forward to seeing at Hoboken University Hospital.”

With the new upgrades, the Infusion Center has expanded its days of operation from three to five days a week and added two chemotherapy-certified nurses and a Medical Assistant, increasing appointment and treatment availability for patients.

Hoboken University Hospital provides comprehensive cancer care for patients with breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and other cancers. Patients also have access to surgical oncology, clinical research opportunities, patient navigation, survivorship care, nutrition counseling and other support services in Hoboken, which are also offered at Bayonne University Hospital and Secaucus University Hospital.

The Gout Program at Hoboken University Hospital provides specialized care, including personalized treatment for acute gout flares, long-term uric acid management, lifestyle and dietary guidance, ongoing monitoring, and pre- and post-treatment support.
